Carriages

Yesterday we brought some carriages now all we need are the engines off grandad.

Excitement in the house

The is lots of excitement in the house. Hannah and Esther are running around madly round the house. We have bought Mommy a mini car as a thank you for finishing the engine shed. But it is only a model mini to go on the model railway!!!

We're getting there

To quote British Rail (sometime in the mid eighties I think) "We're getting there". A few hours up in the loft over the last week has seen:

• The finishing off of the roof boarding on the 'station' side of the loft (yet to be painted white)
• Installation of additional light
• Moving of the loft ladder to make it easier to access from the landing
• The building of the station baseboard

We've bought a box of 25 yards of Peco flexible track, which by my calculations should be enough to get us round the loft and furnish the station area. I remembered the fishplates, but forgot the track pins! We've laid out some track on the new baseboard and at least now we're getting some idea of what the finished product will look like.

And there's news on the engine shed as well. As you can see from the photos, it is now finished. Thanks to my wife / Esther's Mommy! I reckon it's excellent for her first ever bit of kit building!

The wonders of E-Bay

Thanks to e-bay we've now got 5 new wagons! All we need now is the track and something to pull them!

Clearing out the loft.

We started today by clearing out the loft. This meant a lot of moving all the floor boards which meant a lot of drilling which I hate.Then we started to clear it out with mummy's help.We threw out a lot of things. We will be carrying on another day I will keep you up to date with everything. Hannah.

Model Engine Shed

I brought a Superquick set of a model engine shed. This is what I have built so far. It is hard work!
