Bank Holiday Progress

It's been a 'long weekend' full of lots of little jobs (and some bigger ones) but very few of these jobs have been on the railway!!!

Essington Christadelphian meeting room now has a wall around it. The construction was a bit fiddly (card, brick paper and some cut down plastic fencing) but I'm pleased with the results. The pavement still waits to be glued down.

At the hall will be a wedding. Only the bride can be seen - I presume everyone else is waiting inside?

A couple of general view across the fields toward the village. A green Hymek trundles over the viaduct.

And finally....a quick video to prove that trains do still move!

The Other Side of the Road

I've made the pavement for the other side of the road in the village. It's only loosely placed at the moment.

Playground Progress

The playground equipment has moved on. We now have a swing, slide and a climbing frame. I've still got to add the actual swings and put the 'slide' bit onto the slide.

These parts are now in place in the playground.

A temporary paper slide has been fitted.

Little details

A few little details this evening...

No sooner has the road been laid, and the workmen are there digging it up again!

Still no swings or slides - but this father waits patiently with his son.

There's a bit more life at the camp site now.

Enjoying the last few rays of sun before it sets.

Slow progress

Other commitments have meant I've not had much time to work on the model (and it seems this will continue to be the case for another week or 2). I have had time to do a few bits and pieces...

I've had a couple of goes at adding white lines on the roads recently - best results are by masking of with tape and sparingly applying white emulsion.

I think the results are OK - however, the lines in the middle of the road are far too wide (about a foot!) and will need to be redone. Preparations for the zebra crossing are also evident.

More livestock has arrived!

Another eBay purchase. This is a Busch HO product - I'd never heard of them before, but they're just fine for the camping field!
