The Wedding of the Year

Today was an important day in the usually sleepy village of Essignton because today saw the marriage of Owen Gauge (top link engine driver) to Olivia Fryup (the daughter Lewis and Esther Fryup, the owners of 'Essie's Plaice' the fish and chip shop).

The happy couple are caught on camera shortly before leaving for the reception.

Kevin O'Dak was the official photographer.

Owen and Olivia Gauge (or OO Gauge as they are more commonly known) are planning to honeymoon in the Lake District. They will travel there, of course, by train.

Road Works

I've finally laid the road that leads southwards out of the village. I still need to put the landscape around it. However, with the road in place the pavement could be glued down and various bits of street furniture have started to be added.

I've also finished remodelling the bridge over the stream. The original structure gave too much clearance over the stream.

The Doctor Arrives

An unexplained event occurred in the village today - this footage was captured by the manager of the Co-op on his mobile phone...

The three storage roads alongside Hannerton Station were laid today and were quickly occupied! The 2 loco storage roads remain to be added.

A Goods Day

A generous work colleague has given me a box full of bits and pieces, amongst which is a Class 58 diesel (58 007) and several goods wagons. 58 007 joins her sister loco 58 001 which was already resident at Essington.

After a quick service the new 58 runs well and was pushed into service on a 25 wagon goods train!
