I've started building the caravan underframes this lunchtime. They're made up from tinned copper wire bent to shape and soldered together. 2 down, 4 to go!
The underframes have now been sprayed black and superglued to the underside of the first 2 caravans. Note that some of the caravans will be internally illuminated - hence the green and black wires.
In position on the layout, final jobs will be to 'level' them using cardboard breeze blocks and then add steps.
